Doris Alberta Barlow Kunz

In loving memory of Doris Alberta Barlow Kunz, born on December 12, 1950, passed away on September 2, 2025. She was a woman defined by her enduring strength, creativity, and a deep, lifelong commitment to family.
Doris was the mother of 14 children. Following her marriage to her beloved husband, Morris Kunz, she also became a part of a large, blended family, where some of the children saw her as a second mother. She embraced this unique dynamic with a stern but loving hand, ensuring everyone was well-fed and cared for. During these years, Doris became a master of making a little go a long way, spending countless hours finding bargains and creatively managing resources to provide for her extensive household.
Doris had a remarkable ability to create a world of possibility for her children. Her strong work ethic and relentless determination meant that things that seemed out of reach were made possible. She was always making sure there were sports, friends, and camping trips to entertain the host of children she was raising.
Beyond her immediate family, Doris was known for her exceptional generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. She extended her kindness not only to her vast family but to anyone she crossed paths with. Her helpful nature was a cornerstone of her character, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Later in life, Doris channeled her resourcefulness into her passion for natural healing. She became an herbalist, dedicating much time and effort to learning the trade with a strong desire to help people with natural remedies. She also found great joy in connecting with her own children and surviving siblings, cherishing the time she spent with them.
Doris now goes to join her husband, Morris, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her 13 children and the children from her husband's first marriage, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her resilience, her knack for a good bargain, and the profound love she held for her family.
Family and friends are invited to honor the life of Doris on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 1880 W Parkway Blvd, West Valley City, UT 84119. A viewing will be held from 10:00–11:30 a.m., followed by funeral services from 12:00–2:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m., Doris will be laid to rest at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84084.
